- Quakers win the tip. Penn superstar guard Ibby Jaaber opens the game by missing a wide-open three.
- On the other end of the court, Steuerer misses an absolutely wide open layup. There was no one within 15 feet of him as he caught the pass underneath the hoop.
- Finley hits a layup to open the scoring, Zoller hits an easy layup to respond, then Finley misses Princeton's second gimme layup on the other end of the floor.
